The Indian national football team will return to international action as they take on Bahrain in their first friendly game of 2022.
The AIFF organised this game in order to prepare the Blue Tigers for the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers to be held in June.
The International Friendly between Bahrain and India is slated to begin at 09:30 pm (IST) on Wednesday.
No Mumbai City FC players will feature for India as they are currently preparing for the AFC Champions League in UAE.
AIFF has named seven new players in India’s 25-man squad for the Bahrain game, Anwar Ali (Jr), Hormipam Ruivah, Danish Farooq, Prabhsukhan Singh Gill, Naorem Roshan Singh, VP Suhair and Aniket Jadhav.
Sunil Chhetri, Sahal Abdul Samad and Suresh Wangjam are ruled out due to injuries whereas Udanta Singh too will be a miss for the Blue Tigers. Players like Brandon Fernandes, Chinglensana Singh, Akash Mishra, Aniket Jadhav, Amrinder Singh, Anirudh Thapa, and Bipin Singh – are set to miss this game due to visa issues.
