Atletico Madrid are reportedly bracing themselves for an offer for Kieran Trippier as Manchester United inch closer to signing the player this summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have been long linked with a move for the 30-year-old with the LaLiga champions continuing to play hardball over their asking price. Initial reports claimed the England international would be available for around £10m, but according to the Daily Star, the Spanish club are now holding out for £30m.

The England international played a key role in Los Rojiblancos’ LaLiga title win last season, but according to AS, Diego Simeone is resigned to losing the right-back and has begun eyeing up potential replacements.

The report adds that Atletico are lining up Roma's Alessandro Florenzi as a replacement, and could make a bid for him if United make one of their own for Trippier. United want Trippier to provide competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but consider Atletico's asking price too steep, especially after already spurlging on Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane this transfer window.

The Athletic reported back in June that Trippier was so confident about the move that he was searching for houses in the Manchester area. However, any deal could go down to the final days of the window, which closes on August 31.
