Germany and Atalanta full-back, Robin Gosens has opened up on a post-match story involving Cristiano Ronaldo in his biography, that he admits made him "blushed and ashamed".
The 26-year-old revealed that he went over to Ronaldo post the clash between Juventus and Atalanta to ask for the superstars shirt, but was turned away in very harsh terms and even today he admits that he feels embarrassment over the incident.
"After the game against Juventus, I tried to fulfil my dream of having Ronaldo jersey. After the final whistle I went to him, having not even gone public to celebrate ... but Ronaldo did not accept. I asked: 'Cristiano, can I have your shirt?' He didn't even look at me, he just said: 'No!" he recalled in his biography "Dreams are Worthwhile."
"I was completely blushed and ashamed. I went away and felt small. You know that moment when something embarrassing happens and you look around to see if anyone noticed it? That's what I felt and tried to hide it."
While the incident might have caused him to be embarrassed, he might find solace that his side are currently placed above the defending Serie A champions in the league table this season. Atalanta have secured 58 points so far, two points ahead of the Bianconeri as the season moves towards the finish line.
