The Indian footballing world was shocked when it was announced that Antonio Habas ended his stint with ATK Mohun Bagan on December 18, thereby ending his almost one-and-a-half year relationship with the Kolkata based side.

Prior to that he was in charge of the of the ATK FC side in 2019/20 which was his second stint in India and the Spaniard won the title that season while also reaching the final with ATK Mohun Bagan last season.

However, 2021/22 was not kind for him as his side were knocked-out in the AFC Cup while also overseeing a poor start to the current Indian Super League (ISL) season, as they managed to register just eight points from their first six games.

Here, we take a look at his three achievements during his six-year stay in India.

The Spaniard also holds an interesting honour in that he has a 100 percent win record in the Kolkata derby against arch-rivals East Bengal.

He was in charge of the ATK Mohun Bagan side in three Kolkata derbies, winning all three of them.

3. Won title in his comeback season

ATK FC decided to rehire the manager who made them extremely successful in the 2019/20 season and it paid dividends as the Spaniard guided them to the title.

Habas proved yet again to the footballing world that he has the leadership qualities and tactical smarts to win trophies on a consistent basis.
