Antoine Griezmann has insisted he is targeting a long-term stay at Camp Nou and is aiming to play another 100 games for Barcelona.

The Frenchman reached an appearance milestone at the weekend after starting in Barca's season opener against Real Sociedad, and reached the century mark for the LaLiga giants.

There was reported interest from Atletico Madrid and Manchester City this summer, but the 30-year-old has insisted he is hoping to stay at Barca for a long time.

"I am proud and happy to have reached this figure," Griezmann told Barcelona's official website. "I hope I get to play another 100 games and carry on giving everything to make history with this club. I want to keep helping the team both on and off the pitch, in attack and defence, and enjoying being at Barca."

Since joining from Atletico in 2019, Griezmann has played 78 LaLiga, 16 Champions League, nine Copa de Rey, and three Spanish Super Cup games, scoring 35 goals across competitions. He's 14 goals short of Thierry Henry, who is Barca's all-time leading French goalscorer with 49 goals.

Club president Joan Laporta had previously hinted that they would be open to selling Griezmann considering the tough financial situation they have found themselves in this summer. "It's not easy for a club to come in with an offer for a player at his level," Laporta said last month.

"But the transfer window is just getting started and there's a market for Griezmann. If things start moving, we're open to all proposals because we're in a delicate moment financially and we have to balance the books to comply with the league's financial fair play rules."
