Angel Di Maria signed a contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain which will keep him at the Parc des Princes until 2022, with the option of extending his deal for another year.
The 33-year-old is closing in on 250 appearances for the Ligue 1 champions, and has contributed with 87 goals and 99 assists since his arrival in August 2015.
The Argentine has also won a number of trophies with the club, including four Ligue 1 titles, Coupe de France, Coupe de la Ligue, and Trophee des Champions, and he also played a key role in reaching last season's Champions League final in Lisbon.
“I am very happy to be able to renew one more year with PSG, and plus one more if we both agree,” Di Maria told the club’s official website before adding, “I always said I was very happy in Paris. My wish and my desire to continue here was because I feel very happy and because my family is very happy too."
He concluded, “I think that if I renewed my contract it is because the club is happy with me. Now I am playing with Ney (Neymar), with Kylian [Mbappe], players who are making history at the club and want to continue to make history.”
PSG are also trying to tie down Neymar and Kylian Mbappe to fresh contracts, and also offer new deals to Juan Bernat and Julian Draxler before the season ends.
