Amadou Haidara wasn't interested in Man Utd transfer in January

Manchester United breezed past a silent January transfer window because the only player they were interested in approaching last month had no interest in joining them.
The Red Devils are in a battle to finish into the top four of the Premier League with clubs like West Ham United, Tottenham and Arsenal fighting for the last Champions League spot.
With a view to having a stellar second half of the 2021-22 season, the Red Devils did try to sign RB Leipzig star Amadou Haidara but the player didn't want to join anyone in January, as revealed by his manager.
"It’s especially the case with the boys who are at the Africa Cup," Leipzig technical director Christopher Vivell told Sky Germany when asked about players not moving last month.
"Amadou Haidara has been with us for a long time and he’s an important player. I don’t think he really wanted that, just to go somewhere else."
Haidara was at the AFCON with the Mali national team. They were knocked out by Equatorial Guinea on penalties and if the player had any interest in making a move, the Red Devils would have struck a deal at that time.
The midfielder previously spoke to Bild about his love for Manchester United as he said, "Everyone had a favourite team as a kid. Mine was Manchester United. I was a big fan of Cristiano Ronaldo, I liked Paul Scholes, Patrice Evra, Edwin van der Sar, Anderson."
With Rangnick moving to the role of a consultant at United after the end of the current season, it will be interesting to see if he suggests the club to move for Haidara in the summer transfer window later this year.
