Aaron Wan-Bissaka's performance in the 1-0 defeat to Wolves on Monday night was heavily criticised by Manchester United fans who were frustrated with the England international's display.

Ralf Rangnick was handed his first defeat as United boss as Joao Moutinho scored the only goal of the game to give Wolves their first win at Old Trafford in 42 years.

The loss continues to pile pressure on the Red Devils, who are struggling to break into the top four and secure Champions League qualification.

Wan-Bissaka was singled out by a number of fans on social media for his shocking display, with fans questioning his attacking attributes.

During the second half, the 24-year-old completely fluffed his attempt at a cross, kicking the ball out of play, and ruining one of the only decent plays his side made during the game.

"Wan-Bissaka can't cross to save his life," one fan wrote on Twitter, while another said: "Wan Bissaka just isn’t it at that level no matter how much we love him. Teammates don’t even trust him with a pass to get the cross in the box. Why is Dalot back on the bench?"

Following the defeat, Rangnick admitted he has a long way to go before he can turn the club's fortunes around. "I knew it would be a difficult job, that was the reason they contacted me and signed me," he said.

"I knew from the start it wouldn't be easy to find the right balance offensively, defensively. Today we showed similar problems, the team had three or four weeks ago before I arrived. It is not an easy job to develop a DNA with and without the ball."
