Sunil Chhetri is the biggest Indian football legend of modern day. He is usually the first name that appears on every team sheet for the national team.

Recently, India returned to international football action after more than a year as they faced Oman and UAE in a friendly. Chhetri missed both the games as he tested positive for coronavirus.

Today we take a look at the last eight games that Chhetri has missed for the Indian football team and their results.

Then coach Stephen Constantine decided to rest Chhetri for India's friendly against Nepal in 2017. Sandesh Jhingan and Jeje Lalpekhlua scored as India registered a 2-0 win against their neighbours. This decision worked as Chhetri returned and scored the winning goal in India's next game against Kyrgyzstan.

2. Tri-Nation Tournament

Chhetri missed the defeat to Jordan due to an ankle injury he picked up while playing for Bengaluru FC in the ISL.

Nishu Kumar scored the only goal for India as the Blue Tigers lost the game 2-1. This game included a crazy goal as Jordan goalkeeper Amer Shafi's long goalkick caught Gurpreet Singh out and went in.
