It has been well documented that Lionel Messi and Neymar share a strong friendship stemming from their playing days together at Barcelona.
In fact, it was even revealed that Messi, Neymar and fellow attacker Luis Suarez share a Whatsapp group on which they converse regularly.
Nigerian journalist Bolarinwa Olajide of Nigerian Info FM 99.3 put out a quote that is apparently from the Argentinian superstar claiming that he plays FIFA with Neymar when he has some free time on his hands.
In the quote, Messi also revealed that Neymar chooses Brazil and ends up losing most of the time because he passes to himself on the game and tries to perform skill moves - barring one instance when he won with a 'lucky goal.'
Lionel Messi: "Sometimes when I'm at home and I have nothing to do, I call Neymar to play FIFA online. When we play, he always picks Brazil and I pick Argentina. Neymar always passes the ball to himself and try to skill but he's not good at it. He beat me once with a lucky goal."— Bolarinwa Olajide (@iambolar) January 28, 2020
FIFA 20, the popular football video game that is played world wide, features Lionel Messi with the highest base rating of 94 and Neymar with 92. Incidentally, Neymar also has 5 star skill moves on the game, perhaps explaining why the Brazilian is so intent on performing them when playing against Messi.
Messi has enjoyed a successful 2019/20 season so far, having scored 17 goals and assisted 9 times in just 22 games. Neymar, on the other hand, has 15 goals and 9 assists from 17 games so far.
It's fair to say the Brazilian plays better in real life, than he does on FIFA.
