Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi could end up losing his position and job at the French club in the aftermath of the shocking defeat suffered by the French champions at the hands of Manchester United in the last-16 of the UEFA Champions League.

PSG's objective for the last number of years has been to win the Champions League, but it continues to elude them. Moreover, since Al-Khelaifi has been with the club, they have never even reached the semi-finals.

Trusted French publication Le Parisien have reported that in France, there is a debate brewing about whether Al-Khelaifi should resign or not.

The report states that even the Emir of Qatar who is Nasser's boss could meet with him to evaluate the work he is doing and has done at the club.

There are a number of issues at Paris Saint-Germain internally which could also be the reason why it is believed that Al-Khelaifi is not doing his job properly.

He was the one who decided to take the Rabiot situation into his own hands when the player refused to sign a new contract. He isolated the player from the squad against Tuchel's wishes and PSG have struggled to replace him.

They also believe that the president did not act well when a video of Sergi Aurier insulting his teammates and coach, Laurent Blanc, emerged. This coupled with Al-Khelaifi's bias towards Neymar has affected the rest of the players in the squad.

The likes of Thiago Silva, Cavani, Marquinhos and Verratti has all felt Al-Khelaifi's wrath, but he has never reprimanded Neymar. The Brazilian forward has lived like a king since arriving in Paris, leaving for his home country at will and hosting parties that don't portray a professional image of the club, despite being injured.
