Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot has been demoted to the French champions' reserve team as they try and put pressure on the player with regards to his decision to leave the club sooner or later.

Sporting director Antero Henrique had announced before the end of 2018 that the midfielder wouldn't play for the club again, after he'd stated his intention to let his contract run out and leave in the summer.

Speaking to Marca about Rabiot on Friday, Tuchel said, "Rabiot won't take part in this match [against Guingamp]. It is a club decision and I respect it."

Barcelona have been linked with the Frenchman for a long time now and are reported to be continuously monitoring his status at the club.

However, there is no doubt that the player has received interest from multiple clubs, who are said to have made superior financial offers and some at Barcelona fear they could be left disappointed again, as they were last year with Antoine Griezmann.

Meanwhile, Sport have reported that PSG chief Nasser Al Khelaifi wants to keep Rabiot apart from the rest of the squad until he renews his contract or leaves for free in the summer. Despite Thomas Tuchel asking to have Rabiot back if he doesn't seal a January transfer move, the PSG chief is said to have decided on not having the player as part of the squad anymore till he commits to the club.
