Picking the Best Potential Wolves Lineup to Face Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday

Wolves will be looking to continue their promising return to the Premier League as they host Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

Nuno Espirito Santo's men have picked up nine points from their opening six matches, leaving them tenth in the table. They most recently picked up an impressive draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford, cementing their spot as genuine contenders for a top six finish this season.

Here's a look at the best potential Wolves starting XI that could take to the field against Southampton.

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Rui Patricio (GK) - Arguably the best keeper in the league so far this season, Patricio will take his place between the sticks.

Conor Coady (CB) - The club captain is an automatic starter and is coming into this one on a good run of form.

Willy Boly (CB) - A certain starter, Boly has enjoyed a brilliant start to the season.

Ryan Bennett (CB) - Leander Dendoncker made his debut against Leicester in the Carabao Cup, but he made be forced to wait to make his league bow.

2. Midfielders

Matt Doherty (RWB) - So far the Irish wing back has proved himself to be irreplaceable and is unlikely to be dropped anytime soon.

Ruben Neves (CM) - Wolves' main man, Neves is an absolute certainty to keep his place in midfield.

Joao Moutinho (CM) - The experienced midfielder scored his first goal for Wolves last weekend against Manchester United.

Jonny (LWB) - So far Jonny has played in all of Wolves' Premier League matches and his good performances should see him keep his place.

3. Forwards

Helder Costa (RW) - No league goals for the winger so far this season, but he has performed well enough to keep the likes of Adama Traore and Ivan Cavaleiro out of the side.

Diogo Jota (LW) - Wolves' top scorer last season will be hoping that he can finally get off the mark against Southampton.

Raul Jimenez (ST) - The big Mexican striker has started every league match so far and will be looking to add to the two goals he's already notched.
