Liverpool defender Joel Matip has claimed that away teams should fear coming to Anfield, considering the incredible run of form they are in right now, after the Reds registered a record win when they played against Southampton.
Matip started in his first game for Liverpool since March and was paired alongside Virgil Van Dijk, helping the club keep another clean sheet. The defender was of the opinion that any team that comes to Anfield should be scared, considering they have lost only one game in 34 matches in all competitions.
“I think it should always be a fear to come to Anfield as an opposing team,” Matip told BT Sport .

“But we are working hard to make it as uncomfortable as possible for the opponent and we are on a good way. I think nobody enjoys to play here.”
“After this long time, after this injury, it feels great to start again and to play. It was a nice feeling to be on the field 90 minutes,” he continued.
“Sure, it was quite a long time with the injury but now I’m fit and in a good way. I still need some time but (I’m) looking forward to the next game.
“I was not too lucky with scoring goals during my time at Liverpool but I hope that maybe this season I can score a few more goals.
“It always helps the team and helps me get self-confidence for the game.”
It remains to be seen how long the team can continue their winning run in all competitions.
