Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard claims that French winger Anthony Martial has all it takes to have a great season at the club after an uncertain last year.

After a sensational first season at United, Martial was left frustrated last season when Jose Mourinho opted to keep him out of the team for long intervals. Additionally, the Portuguese manager made his displeasure with the player publicly known during his interactions with the media.

Martial has put last season behind him and has started the new season in brilliant form. He has already scored four goals this season and was last night's man-of-the-match in United's 4-1 win against Burton in the league cup.

Fellow teammate Lingard was all praise for the Frenchman and spoke to Talksport about the progress Martial has made. He said, "When he is running at you, any defender is going to be put on the back foot. If he continues to do that throughout the season, he'll be a force this season."

Martial scored Manchester United's only second half goal last night as the Red Devils confirmed their spot in the next round of the Carabao Cup.
