Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho has claimed that he is completely focused on doing well for the Reds, despite admitting that he was interested in a move to Barcelona this summer.

The transfer saga dominated the start of the season, with Barcelona making three bids and Coutinho putting in an official transfer request. However, Liverpool didn't budge and the Brazil international ended up staying at Anfield.

Coutinho made his return in the 2-2 draw against Sevilla and started yesterday's 1-1 draw against Burnley and now, he has reaffirmed his commitment to Jurgen Klopp's cause.

Speaking to ESPN Brazil, as reported by the Metro, Coutinho said, "I was interested by the offer but now my focus is on having a good season with Liverpool and with the national team."

"It’s an honour to receive an offer from this club [Barcelona] but it is also an honour playing for Liverpool, I’ve always respected the club and the supporters."

Liverpool have endured a frustrating start to the season, picking up just eight points from the first five games and Klopp will be hoping that Coutinho finds his best form soon and help them move up the table.

The 25-year-old has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League since joining Liverpool and scored a career high 14 goals in all competitions last season, helping the Reds qualify for the Champions League.
