Picking the Best Potential Swansea Lineup to Face Tottenham on Saturday

Following their 1-0 defeat to Newcastle at the Liberty Stadium, Swansea travel to Wembley as they face last year's Premier League runners-up, Tottenham Hotspur.

Here's how they could line up.

Goalkeeper

Lukasz Fabianski will start in goal for the Swans.

Defence

Despite being on the receiving end of a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Manchester United, the Swansea defence has been one of the better back lines of the teams in the bottom half of the table. Having kept two clean sheets from four league games so far this season, Swansea were able to completely shut out both Southampton and Crystal Palace.

Swansea's back four will likely be unchanged from their last game against Newcastle with Federico Fernandez and Alfie Mawson partnering at the heart of defence while Kyle Naughton and Martin Olsson fortify the wings.

Midfield

  • Sanches

  • Clucas

  • Carroll

  • Fer

Despite making an underwhelming debut against Newcastle, Bayern Munich loanee, Renato Sanches, could give Swansea a much needed edge in midfield.

The intelligent and versatile Sam Clucas will prove to be a great asset in midfield, with his passing ability able to bring the likes of Leroy Fer into the game as he plays the role of a traditional number ten.

Forwards

  • Abraham

  • Ayew
    Ayew3

Tammy Abraham and Jordan Ayew feature up front for the Swans as they face the difficult task of circumventing Spurs' formidable defence. Chelsea loanee Abraham could prove to be an integral part of Swansea's attack this season, with the 19-year-old looking to make a name for himself on the big stage and earn his place at his parent club.

Meanwhile, Ayew has a great deal of incentive to perform with Wilfred Bony looking to make himself a mainstay within the Swansea front line following his move from Manchester City.
