Paris Saint-Germain attacking midfielder Julian Draxler is set to stay at the club despite the presence of many attacking options in the side and links to other clubs. The arrival of Neymar was seen by many as the end of Draxler's PSG career but the club are not willing to let the player leave just six months after he joined them.

According to Goal, PSG are counting on the German international and he is set to stay at the club to provide competition to the attack.

Unai Emery's side already have Edinson Cavani, Neymar, Lucas Moura, Angel Di Maria and Javier Pastore in attack but reportedly want to keep Draxler who joined the club from Wolfsburg in January.

The 23-year-old has made an excellent start to life in Paris and scored ten times in the second half of the season and helped the Paris side win the Coupe de la Ligue and the Coupe de France.

Barcelona are said to be interested in a move for the German while Premier League sides Arsenal and Liverpool are long term admirers. However, PSG are not looking to offload Draxler and want him to stay at the club.

This has also been confirmed by the player's agent Roger Whitmann who has reiterated his desire to stay and succeed at the club.

"Draxler will stay, he will not be moving anywhere this summer. Here the club is counting on him for the future and hopes he will stay in Paris," Whitmann said to Bild.

Draxler captained Germany to the FIFA Confederations Cup title this summer and was named best player of the tournament. He will look to carry on that excellent form and gain a regular starting spot in the PSG side.
