The time of the year when all the premier league clubs look to strengthen their squads sees many clubs break their banks to land their target. We have already seen many clubs smashing their previous club record signing.

Here, we look at five Premier League clubs who have broken their club-transfer record this summer transfer window.

5. Tottenham - Davinson Sanchez (£36.6 million)

Tottenham Hotspur confirmed the signing of the 21-year-old Colombian defender for a club-record fee of £36.6m that could potentially rise to £38.4m with add-ons. The strong centeral defender made 45 appearances scoring seven goals in all competitions before leaving Ajax.

4. Liverpool - Mohamed Salah (£36.9 million)

Liverpool paid a club-record £36.9m plus £8m in add-ons to land their prime summer target Mohamed Salah this summer from AS Roma where he made 109 appearance scoring 43 goals in all competitions. He made an immediate impact by scoring on his debut.  

3. Everton - Gylfi Sigurdsson (£40 million)

Spending big this summer, Everton confirmed the signing of Gylfie Sigurdsson for a whopping club-record fee of £40m plus £5m in add-ons from Swansea. The talented Icelandic made 128 appearance scoring 38 goals in all competitions before leaving Swansea after three seasons with them.

2. Arsenal - Alexandre Lacazette (£46.5 million)

Arsenal smashed their club-transfer record with a initial £46.5m plus £6.2m in add-ons for deadly striker Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon where he made 275 appearances in all competitions scoring 129 goals. He marked his arrival with a goal just three minutes into his debut against Leicester City.

1. Chelsea - Alvaro Morata (£58 million)

Having missed out on Romelu Lukaku, Chelsea broke their previous club-transfer record by confirming the signature of 2-time Champions League winner Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid for an initial fee of £58m plus £12min add-ons. He made 95 appearances in all competitions scoring 31 goals and marked his debut with a goal and an assist.
