Picking the Best Potential Bournemouth Lineup to Play Watford on Saturday

AFC Bournemouth welcome Watford to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, after losing 1-0 to West Bromwich Albion in their opening game of the Premier League season last week.

With new signings Jermain Defoe and Nathan Ake both featuring last time out, here is how the Cherries could lineup against Watford.

Goalkeeper

  • Begovic

Former Chelsea keeper Asmir Begovic made six good saves against West Brom, but failed to stop Ahmed Hegazi's opener in what proved to be the only goal of the game.

Defence

  • Francis

  • Aké

  • Daniels

Captain Simon Francis leads a familiar defence with the exception of £20m new boy Nathan Ake - who looks set to make his second appearance for the Cherries.

Having failed to cope with a compact and organized West Brom side, the Bournemouth defence will now face Watford's powerful forward Stefano Okaka and new signing Andre Gray.

Midfield

  • Fraser

  • Ibe

Ryan Fraser, Andrew Surman and Harry Arter should all keep their spots in the Cherries' midfield, while Jordon Ibe could replace Marc Pugh out wide.

Ibe had a disappointed debut season for Bournemouth, but looks eager to prove why the club paid £15m to secure his services from Liverpool. The 21-year-old could come into his own this season.

Forwards

  • Defoe

Extremely talented 25-year-old attacker Josh King could partner veteran forward Jermain Defoe in a new look front-line on Saturday.

Defoe netted 15 league goals for relegated Sunderland last season, a tally which was only narrowly surpassed by King's 16 goals for the south coast club.

The two poachers could form an impressive attack for the Cherries this season, with bright young forward Benik Afobe potentially dropping to the bench.
