Paris Saint-Germain right-back Dani Alves has heaped praise on world record signing Neymar after the Brazilian impressed during their 3-0 win against Guingamp.

Neymar, the world's most expensive player at €222m, made his debut for the Paris side last night and made an immediate impact, scoring once and assisting another goal and his fellow Brazilian Alves was full of praise for him after a dream debut.

Speaking after the game, as reported by FourFourTwo, Alves said, "I believe he showed why PSG wanted to sign him [Neymar], to be decisive as he was and help our team achieve good results."

"He performed well, and all of us had great expectations about this match too. We wanted him to have his debut and help us, and no doubt we're stronger with him now."

"A player cannot rely only on his name to make a difference, but also has to work hard and make things happen on the pitch. And that's Neymar's differential, he's not only a global name, he deserves his greatness."

Neymar set up a goal for Edinson Cavani before scoring himself late on and will hope to continue his good form as he looks to make PSG one of the best clubs in the world.

The Brazil international scored 105 goals for Barcelona in four years and will look to extend that form for PSG and help them win the Ligue 1 and the Champions League titles.
