With a seven a goal thriller which unfolded at the Emirates last night, English Premier league is off to a flyer. Now the focus shifts to the first weekend of the new season, with Liverpool taking a trip to the Hornet's nest.

Brendan Rodgers came frustratingly close to bringing the first Premier League to Anfield. Jurgen Klopp, after taking charge, has also shown plenty of promise. In his third season in charge, fans would like to see some of that promise turned into something more concrete.

Liverpool are heading in the right direction, some new signings have added more spunk to their already lively attack and the German will bank on exactly that to get them out of trouble this afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp will have to deal with 4 key absentees. Adam Lallana (thigh), Nathaniel Clyne (hamstring), Philippe Coutinho (back) and Daniel Sturridge (thigh) are already out of the tie, making Klopp's selection rather straightforward. Jordan Henderson, too, missed Liverpool's final pre-season encounter against Athletic Bilbao and is still a doubt for the match.

With a chunk of the first-teamers out, Klopp will be fielding the subdued XI he has. In attack, the new recruit, Mohamed Salah will take to the field with Roberto Firminho and Sadio Mane for company. Mane and Salah are comfortable playing on either flank, so, expect them to take the Watford's defence for a joy ride.

Emre Can, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson, if declared fit, could form an assiduous midfield. In defence, Alberto Moreno deserves to get the nod ahead of James Milner, considering the form he's in, but, chances are, Klopp won't budge from fielding his ever-so-reliable vice-captain.

Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip would form a solid defensive core, and Alex-Arnold would deservedly keep his place as the natural right-back. In goal, Simon Mignolet is tipped to start, and looking at the pre-season he's had, he most certainly deserves a shot.

Burnley v West Ham United - Premier League

Marco Silva's first Premier League game in charge for Watford could see the record signing Andre Gray make his competitive debut. Club captain, Troy Deeney's recent groin surgery could see him miss the opener, as a late fitness test would determine his fate for today's tie.

Craig Cathcart (knee), Christian Kabasele (hamstring) and Mauro Zarate (knee) will also miss the tie. The Hornets, however, are unbeaten in their last 10 opening day encounters, and they most certainly have enough firepower to cause an upset once again.

Probable XI:

Liverpool(4-3-3): Mignolet; A-Arnold, Matip, Lovren, Milner; Henderson, Can, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firminho, Mane;

Watford(4-4-2): Gomes; Femenia, Kaboul, Britos, Holebas; Doucoure, Chalobah, Cleverly, Pereyra; Okaka, Richarlison;
