The winter transfer window might have closed, but there are still a number of players who are understood to be unhappy at their clubs and are willing to run down their contracts in order to become free agents come the end of the season.

There are a number of top players who will become free agents in the summer and here, we take a look at five of them.

1. Kylian Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe has established himself as the best young striker in the world over the past three years, courtesy of his brilliant performances in front of goal for Paris Saint-Germain and France.

The 23-year-old's future at PSG has been a source of headlines in the recent past considering that he has so far refused to extend his contract with the club, with it also being reported that he has agreed terms to join Real Madrid in the summer.

2. Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba has failed to live up to expectations placed on him ever since he returned to Manchester United in 2016, with it emerging in the past that he is keen to leave the club amid interest from a number of top European clubs.

The Red Devils are understood to be keen to see the player sign a new deal with the player, though it is still uncertain whether the Frenchman would decide to remain with the club, amid their continued struggles on the pitch.

3. Paulo Dybala

Paulo Dybala has impressed for Juventus ever since joining them from Palermo in 2015, with the Argentinian scoring more than 100 goals in 277 appearances for them so far.

The playmaker/striker is another player whose contract expires at the end of the season, with a number of top clubs keen to sign him. Juventus for their part are keen to extend his contract, though nothing has come out of it as yet.

4. Ousmane Dembele

Ousmane Dembele's contract situation at Barcelona is well documented, with the club keen to get rid of the player in January, only for no move to materialise.

It is understood that the Frenchman is not looking to extend his contract with the Catalan giants and it will be interesting to see where he will end up next season.

5. Franck Kessie

Franck Kessie has emerged as one of the most wanted midfielders in the world after impressing at AC Milan and with his contract expiring in the summer - there are clubs from all over Europe who have expressed an interest to sign him come the summer.

The 25-year-old is a complete midfielder and he will be a quality addition for whichever club he decides to join.
