The season across all leagues is in full swing with players across Europe putting in performances in order to ensure that they lead their clubs to trophies come the end of the season. As usual, there have been a few who have been brilliant on the pitch and here, we take a look at five players registered the most assists in 2021 in all competitions.

1. Thomas Muller - 27 assists in 46 games

Thomas Muller has enjoyed a resurgence in form over the past couple of seasons, with midfielder/playmaker starring on the pitch as seen by the 27 assists he has registered so far this year.

The 32-year-old has been his usual brilliant self for Bayern Munich and has been even more impressive for Germany after being called up after a gap of three years, considering that he was left out in the cold following their poor performance in the 2018 World Cup.

2. Filip Kostic - 21 assists in 34 games

Filip Kostic might not be a well known name in footballing circles, but the 29-year-old has ensured that he is one of the most feared players in the Bundesliga this year, as seen by the 21 assists he has registered in just 34 games.

The 29-year-old who is capable of playing as a left-back and a left-winger has been brilliant and will no doubt be on the radar for a number of top clubs if he continues this form as the season progresses.

3. Marco Reus - 19 assists in 45 games

Widely regarded as the most talented footballer in Germany at present, Marco Reus is an icon at Borussia Dortmund - though he has been unlucky as injuries have hampered his career at crucial times.

The 32-year-old continues to amaze on a regular basis and it is seen this year too with 19 assists in 45 games so far.

4. Leroy Sane - 19 assists in 50 games

Leroy Sane took time to settle in at Bayern Munich in 2020 after excelling for Manchester City, but he soon showed why he is so highly rated by putting in brilliant performances.

The 25-year-old has registered 19 assists in 50 games this year and he will be required to continue this form if Bayern are to win the Champions League come the end of the season.

5. Kylian Mbappe - 17 assists in 49 games

Widely considered as a future Ballon d'Or award winner, Kylian Mbappe has not only been brilliant for club and country in the goalscoring stakes - but has also provided a number of goals for his fellow team-mates.

The youngster is central to Paris Saint-Germain's chance of winning the Champions League this season and it will be interesting to see if he can lead them to their maiden European trophy.
