The 2021/22 season is well into it's second half, with clubs looking for that extra push in order to ensure that they come away with silverware at the end of the campaign. As usual, there have been a few strikers who have been brilliant in front of goal and here, we take a look at five of them who have the most goals in the top 5 leagues of Europe.

1. Robert Lewandowski - 24 goals in 21 games

Robert Lewandowski has established himself as the best striker in the world over the past three years or so and he has continued his brilliant form this season too - scoring 24 goals in just 21 games in the Bundesliga so far.

The Polish hitman has been key to all of Bayern Munich's success in the recent past and if he continues in the same vein, then there is no reason why they will not emerge as champions come the end of the season.

2. Patrik Schick - 18 goals in 18 games

Patrik Schick has had a brilliant run in front of goal this season, netting 18 goals in the league so far and he has been the main reason why Bayer Leverkusen find themselves placed third in the Bundesliga.

The 26-year-old's form has seen him being linked to a number of top clubs and it will be interesting to see whether he chooses to remain in Germany in the summer.

3. Ciro Immobile - 18 goals in 20 games

Ciro Immobile remains a very underrated footballer and not spoken about much despite winning three Serie A Golden Boot awards during his career so far.

The Italian has been among the goals this time around too, netting 18 goals in 20 games in the league and he will be key to where Lazio finish in the league.

4. Dusan Vlahovic - 18 goals in 22 games

Another young striker who has been making waves is Dusan Vlahovic, with the 22-year-old's performances for Fiorentina catching the eye of Juventus, who signed him in January.

Vlahovic enjoyed a dream debut for the Turin based side, scoring on his debut for them and he may well be the difference for the Italian giants going forward.

5. Karim Benzema - 17 goals in 21 games

Karim Benzema has established himself as the talisman for the Real Madrid side ever since Cristiano Ronaldo left in the summer of 2018, with the Frenchman playing a key role in the Los Blancos' 2019/20 La Liga title win.

The 34-year-old is in all probability coming to an end of his time at the Bernabeu and he will look to lead them to more trophies by the time he decides to leave the Spanish giants.
