Fantasy Premier League heads into its first double gameweek of the season and also marks the halfway point of the 2020-21 season. Aston Villa, Burnley, Chelsea, Fulham, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle, West Brom, and West Ham are all playing two games this week, so you might want to stock up on players from these teams.
If you still have your Bench Boost or Triple Captain chips, this is a good time to play one of them. If you’ve got a deep squad of regular starters, consider bench boosting to earn points from all 15 players - especially if they are playing twice. Heavyweights like Kevin De Bruyne, Mohamed Salah, and Bruno Fernandes have two fixtures and could be worth triple captaincy.
With that in mind, here are 5 players who'd make a great addition to your FPL team for GW19.
Kevin De Bruyne - £11.8m - vs Palace (H) & Villa (H)
A no-brainer, perhaps, but a double gameweek and two home games for Manchester City makes De Bruyne a must-have. After a 13-point haul against Chelsea 11 days ago, the Belgian followed that up with six more against Brighton earlier this week. De Bruyne has returned points in five of his past eight fixtures including double-digit hauls against Burnley, Fulham, and Chelsea. He's up against two sides who are struggling to keep goals out, and should find himself on the scoresheet.
Harry Kane - £11.1m - vs Sheffield United (A)
Another clear captaincy candidate is Tottenham's Harry Kane. Despite not having a double gameweek, Kane faces a Sheffield United side that have just the one win all season. The Blades have conceded the third most goals all season and their defence is still missing some key players. Kane’s ten goals and 11 assists so far this season makes him the highest-scoring forward to date. If you’re unsure on any of the double gameweek players, Kane is the obvious captain choice this week.
Michail Antonio - £6.2m - Burnley (H) and West Brom (H)
Antonio could prove something of a bargain this gameweek, especially if you are considering bringing in some heavyweights. Antonio has struggled with injuries this season but featured for 90 minutes during the Hammers’ 1-0 win at Stockport earlier this week. West Ham host Burnley and West Brom – two sides with just one away victory between them this season, and the games could provide the opportunities to add to his tally for the season.
Jamie Vardy - £10.2m - Southampton (H) and Chelsea (H)
Leicester face Southampton and Chelsea in Gameweek 19, increasing Vardy's chances of delivering some points. The big games are where Vardy is at his best however having scored against Arsenal, Wolves, Tottenham, and Manchester United this season, also bagging a hat-trick against Manchester City. Although the Leicester man has scored just once in his last four games, he has still provided three assists.
Mohamed Salah - £12.5m - United (H) & Burnley (H)
Liverpool will have to defend their Premier League title against Manchester United this weekend, with the Red Devils sitting above them on the league table. Jurgen Klopp’s side have failed to win in their past three fixtures and will no doubt be desperate to get back to winning ways against United. Salah currently leads the race for the Premier League’s Golden Boot and is the fourth-highest scoring FPL player at present.
