The 2020 European Championships which was postponed from last year is scheduled to start on June 12, with a number of top nations featuring top players participating in the tournament. However, there are a number of good players who despite their excellence at club level are yet to represent their countries and here, we take a look at five of them who are the most valuable.

1. Jules Kounde (France) - €60m

Jules Kounde broke through on the world stage at Bordeaux in 2017, with Spanish side, Sevilla quickly snapping him up in 2019 for a fee understood to be in the region of €25million.

The 22-year-old took no time to impress in Spain and has since established himself as one of the best young defenders in the world - though surprisingly, he is yet to play for his country at the international level.

2. Theo Hernandez (France) - €50m

Theo Hernandez has been extremely impressive for AC Milan since joining them in 2019 and is one of the key reasons why they were brilliant in the first half of the current campaign.

Hernandez who is only 23-years-old is brilliant going forward and tends to scored important goals as seen by the eight goals he has scored so far, though criticism has been aimed at him for his defensive issues.

3. Aymeric Laporte (France) - €50m

Widely hailed as one of the best centre-backs in the world, Aymeric Laporte has been a consistent performer for Manchester City, but has fallen down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola off late.

The 26-year-old who is yet to be capped by France, is reportedly switching allegiances to Spain and is set to be called up by them for the Euro 2020 campaign.

This move though has come in from strong criticism from French football legends.

4. Diego Carlos (Brazil) - €50m

Another player from Sevilla, and one who has been extremely impressive for them is Diego Carlos - with the Brazilian impressing in the centre of the defence.

At 28, Carlos is approaching his peak and it will only be Brazil's loss if he does not make an appearance for them soon.

5. Florian Wirtz (Germany) - €45m

An attacking midfielder who is a dynamic all-round presence and capable of playing as a left-winger, Florian Wirtz is the latest youngster to impress in the Bundesliga.

The 18-year-old was called up by Joachim Low for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in March, but is yet to make his debut for the senior national team.
