There are a number of great players in the world plying their trade in Europe, but there are a few who are considered to be superstars in the sport. Here, we take a look at the five most valuable players in the world at present as per Transfermarkt.

1. Kylian Mbappe (Paris Saint-Germain) - €180m

Kylian Mbappe is without doubt along with Robert Lewandowski among the two best strikers in the world and one who has already showed through his performances why he is so highly valued. The Frenchman is only 22-years-old and has been touted to take the mantle of the best player in the world once Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo decide to hang up their boots.

2. Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain) - €128m

Arguably the most talented footballer in the world, Neymar has been brilliant for PSG on the pitch - but he tends to suffer from numerous injuries and has been criticised for his off-field exploits. A return of 83 goals in 105 games is exceptional, but till he leads the club to glory in Europe, he will tend to attract detractors.

3. Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur) - €120m

Harry Kane continues to score goals for fun for both club and country and for many it is remarked that he would need to leave Tottenham Hotspur to win trophies. The 27-year-old has had another excellent season in front of goal as seen by the 27 goals he has netted this season, and he would look to continue this form for England in the upcoming Euro 2020 championship.

4. Erling Haaland (Borussia Dortmund) - €110m

Erling Haaland has in the last two years established himself as the most in-form striker in the world, scoring a staggering 49 goals in just 50 games for Borussia Dortmund so far. His performances have attracted interest from a number of top European clubs, and it will be interesting to see whether he leaves Germany come the end of the season.

5. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) - €110m

Mohamed Salah continues to remain the talisman for Liverpool, with the Reds depending on him for goals and he has lived up to expectations by scoring 26 goals in what has been a dismal season for them so far. The Egyptian will be key if Jurgen Klopp's side are to finish in the top four in the Premier League and taste success in the form of the Champions League.
