Welcome back after an international break loaded with injuries, positive coronavirus test results, and deadline day signings who will be hoping to make an impact as Premier League football returns.
Gameweek four delivered two jaw-dropping results as Tottenham smacked Manchester United 6-1 and Aston Villa stunned Liverpool 7-2. Mohamed Salah was the only Liverpool player who delivered that weekend, scoring both their goals, and the Egyptian will be looking to continue his fine form as Jurgen Klopp's men travel to table toppers Everton in gameweek five.
Here are 5 players you must pick for Gameweek Five.
Heung-Min Son - £9.1m - West Ham (H)
Tottenham's Heung-Min Son is the most-signed player ahead of GW5, being transferred into more than a million teams. He scored twice and provided an assist during Spurs' 1-6 demolition of Man United. He now has accrued 45 FPL points in his last three gameweeks, three more than high-flying teammate Harry Kane (£10.6m).
Son is a cheaper prospect compared to Kane, and with both Kevin De Bruyne and Sadio Mane doubts for their respective games, making Son captain might work in your favour.
James Rodriguez - £7.8m - Liverpool (H)
He might be playing the defending Premier League champions at home, but James Rodriguez has had a perfect start to his life at Everton. The Colombian has been added to over 600,000 teams ahead of the weekend, and his two goals and one assist until now is motive enough to include him in your team.
The Reds are missing first-choice goalkeeper Alisson, which means the decidedly dodgy Adrian will be forced to step in for the second league game running. This bodes well for Rodriguez, who must fancy his chances of further attacking returns in this fixture.
George Baldock - £5.4m - Fulham (H)
Baldock is the perfect budget buy for your defence. A promising home fixture against fellow strugglers Fulham should give Baldock a decent opportunity for a clean sheet. Not only that, Fulham continue to leak goals, and Baldock was among the most attack-minded defenders in FPL last season, producing two goals and four assists.
Alternatively, Chelsea's Reece James is another option coming in at just £5.1m. With Ben Chilwell in doubt after aggravating a foot injury whilst on international duty with England, James is a guaranteed starter as Chelsea welcome Southampton to Stamford Bridge.
Patrick Bamford - £5.8m - Wolves (H)
Bamford has hit the ground running in the Premier League, scoring three and providing two assists. The only game that he blanked in was the 1-1 draw against Man City, having already scored in each of the other three fixtures. Wolves, are a bit unreliable at the moment, having already conceded seven.
Not to mention, Bamford is a budget buy if you want to stock up your midfield with the heavyweights. Both Bamford and Leeds are brimming with confidence and are not shy in front of goal. Wolves are hard to predict currently; it wasn’t long ago they conceded four goals to the Hammers in Gameweek four.
Bruno Fernandes - £10.5m - Newcastle (A)
Another solid captain choice is United's Bruno Fernandes. Since signing for the Red Devils in January 2020, he produced attacking returns in all seven of his away outings last term, scoring six goals and providing three assists.
Fernandes continued that run in his first away fixture of 2020/21 against Brighton, supplying an assist to Marcus Rashford and converting a late penalty. Gameweek 5 sees Man Utd travel to Newcastle desperate for a reaction after the Spurs' loss.
