The summer transfer window is currently underway and a number of clubs have already made signings so far, with some spending large amounts of money in order to get the player of their choice.

Here, we take a look at five clubs who have spent the most money on signings so far this summer.

1. Manchester City - €128m - 3 Signings

Manchester City unsurprisingly top the list by spending €128million, but it should be noted that €118m of that was spent in signing Jack Grealish - for what is a British record transfer fee.

The Cityzens also spent €10m to land Brazilian teenager, Kayky from Fluminense, while getting Scott Carson on board on a free transfer.

2. Aston Villa - €105.6m - 5 Signings

A surprising name on the list is Aston Villa, who made full use of the €118million they received for Jack Grealish to use it to strengthen their squad by signing five players.

Dean Smith's side have made some astute signings in the form of Emiliano Buendia (€38.4), Danny Ings (€35.2) and Leon Bailey (€32), while also bringing in the likes of Ashley Young and Axel Tuanzebe.

3. RB Leipzig - €92m - 7 Signings

RB Leipzig have emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the Bundesliga in the recent past and the German club were once again busy in the transfer window, signing seven players so far.

The signings of Andre Silva and Angelino stand out, and it will be interesting to see whether they can once again challenge Bayern Munich for the league title.

4. Manchester United - €85m - 2 Signings

Manchester United finally got their man in Jadon Sancho after trying to sign him for more than year, with the Red Devils paying Borussia Dortmund €85million for his services.

The second confirmed signing is that of goalkeeper, Tom Heaton from Aston Villa for free and are soon set to announce a third signing in the form of Raphael Varane who has already completed his medical with the Old Trafford outfit.

5. Arsenal - €84m - 3 Signings

Many were surprised when Arsenal paid Brighton €58.5million for defender, Ben White - considering that the youngster has not played much in the Premier League so far.

The Gunners have also brought in Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares for €17.5 and €8m, respectively.
