Barcelona shocked the footballing world when they recently announced that they would not be offering Lionel Messi a new deal despite the player agreeing to take a 50 percent pay cut in order to remain at the Nou Camp.
This led to Paris Saint-Germain arguably making the biggest signing in the history of football as they managed to land the Argentina icon on a free transfer, with the striker signing a two-year deal with the option of extending it by another year.
The 34-year-old scored a staggering 682 goals during his time at Barcelona, and here, we take a look at the five clubs against he has scored the most goals.
1. Sevilla - 38 goals in 43 games
Messi's favourite opponents during his entire career has been Sevilla, with the Argentinian netting 38 goals against them in just 43 appearances and one is sure that they would have been extremely happy to see the back of the superstar.
2. Atletico Madrid - 32 goals in 43 games
Messi always reserved his best when coming across Atletico Madrid on the pitch, and was a bane for Diego Simeone as seen by the 32 goals he scored in 43 appearances.
He might get to face the LaLiga side in the near future considering that both PSG and Atletico are regulars in the Champions League.
3. Valencia - 31 goals in 36 games
The 34-year-old has played Valencia 36 times so far and his record against them is brilliant, with the striker netting 31 goals against them, with his goalscoring ratio extremely high.
The Spanish side's fortunes have fallen by the wayside in the past, and it looks unlikely that he will come across them anytime soon.
4. Athletic Club - 29 goals in 41 games
While Messi has scored 29 goals against Athletic Club, his goalscoring ratio against them is lower than that of other sides - however, he has found the back of the net when it has mattered.
Like a few other sides in the list, it is unlikely that he will come across them anytime soon, since they do not usually qualify for the Champions League.
5. Real Betis - 26 goals in 24 games
Messi's record against Real Betis is brilliant and his ratio is extremely impressive as he averages more than a goal a game. With 26 goals in just 24 games against them, the Betis side would be glad to see the back of the record six-time Ballon d'Or award winner.
