Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic may face retrospective punishment from UEFA after grabbing Simon Kjaer by the throat in the club's 2-1 defeat to Fenerbahce on Thursday.

Ibrahimovic replaced the injured Paul Pogba in the first-half of United's clash against the Turkish side, and was immediately thrown into the white-hot atmosphere in Istanbul.

The striker challenged Kjaer for the ball and appeared to lash out at the Danish international, which took place right in front of United boss Jose Mourinho.

Referee Milorad Mažić took no action but it may not be the last Ibrahimovic hears of the incident, as it has been speculated since that Europe's governing body could investigate the incident.
