Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has suggested that he intends to keep teammate Mesut Ozil's feet firmly on the ground despite his wonder goal in the Champions League mid-week.

The Gunners found themselves 2-0 down in the opening 15 minutes of their away clash with Bulgarian side Ludogorets, however after a fine comeback in the first half to bring the scores level, Ozil scored one of the goals of the tournament to win the game, rounding the keeper and two defenders before calmly tapping it into the net with just three minutes to go.

However, despite his fellow countryman's brilliance in the game, as well as the beginning of this season, Mustafi has told the Sun that he won't big up Ozil's performances, as he may get too big-headed, but suggests that the goal emphasises just how much quality and confidence he has at his disposal right now.

"I don’t want to say too much because it will get in his head and he’s going to think he’s the best again," joked the German international.

“No, we know his qualities. He is incredible. He is calm in front of goal, I think I would have just taken the first touch and shot from 20 yards away!

"But he stays cool, he has the calmness and finishes off brilliantly.”

Arsenal fans will certainly hope that Ozil and the rest of his teammates bring their good form to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, as they welcome their north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in a huge Premier League clash at the top of the table.
