Thierry Henry created quite the buzz when he came to Kolkata to watch Atletico de Kolkata take on Mumbai City FC on 25th, as he seemed to be impressed by the state of the game in the country and believes that it can only get better from here.

When asked about what can help develop the game properly in the country,  Henry stated that big names in football can help it get bigger as he said: “It helps massively when you have such people in the league.”

The Indian Super League has so far reaped a lot of big names towards it, as Diego Forlan is one of the top marquee players in the tournament this season. But the Frenchman has also urged organizers to make sure that more young talent from India can make it to this stage and get to rub shoulders with these big players as he said:
“What helps more is if you can develop young Indian players who can play alongside these footballing greats and learn about the game. That’s what will be amazing.”

Henry had some fond memories of his first ISL match, as he seemed to be happy at how the game between Kolkata and Mumbai went on and said: "I arrived into India and came to see the ISL match in the evening. The game needed a goal, which came late, but other than that it’s a good atmosphere here. It was a good game of football. We saw two good goalkeepers and Diego Forlan doing what he does best — putting the ball at the back of the net."

The Frenchman was in India for a two-day trip which was meant to promote the Indian Super League as he also interacted with fans during his stay in Kolkata, as the current Belgium national football team's assistant coach is someone we'll hope can appear in the Indian Super League in his managerial colors soon and inspire more and more youngsters to take up the sport of football rather than cricket in the country.
