Spanish media sources are reporting that Arsenal forward Lucas Perez will be out for six weeks with an ankle ligament injury.

The Spaniard started the Gunner's EFL Cup match against Reading on Tuesday but gave way to Chris Wilcock after hurting his ankle due to a hard challenge from Danzell Gravenberch

It is now being reported that he will face at least a month and a half on the sidelines.

If the reports are true, Perez is likely to miss matches against Sunderland, Ludogorets, Tottenham, Man United, Paris Saint Germain, Bournemouth, Southampton, West Ham, and Basel.

Perez, who signed from Deportivo la Coruna for £17m during the summer, was hoping to cement a place in Arsene Wenger's starting 11, so this comes as a really big blow.

He has only made six appearances for the Gunners so far this season, scoring twice in the process.
