ATKMB will kick of their revolution in the Indian Super League this season after their much hyped merger which has given a lot of football fans in India immense joy.
After winning the ISL title last season, ATK Mohun Bagan will now hope to retain their title in the upcoming season. Here are 4 players who could play a key role for them in achieving that...
1. Sandesh Jhingan
One of Indian football's best defenders, Sandesh Jhingan ended his emotional ties with Kerala Blasters and moved to ATKMB for the upcoming ISL season.
Jhingan will have to withstand a lot of pressure in Antonio Habas' team. The fact that he is also the highest paid footballer in the league, adds more impetus on the fact that he has to come up with decent performances, almost every single match.
2. Roy Krishna
One of the most consistent goalscorers in the ISL, Roy Krishna was the joint Golden Boot winner last season with a total of 15 goals to his name.
His immense qualities in front of goal led to ATK lifting the ISL title in the last campaign. With David Williams and Michael Soosairaj beside him in ATK's attack, Krishna is expected to score a lot more goals this time out.
3. Subhasish Bose
After a two season long stint with Mumbai City FC, Subhasish Bose made the move to ATK Mohun Bagan ahead of the new season and is expected to be one of their crucial players in defence for the upcoming campaign.
Last season, Bose played 18 games in the ISL and made 56 tackles, 26 interceptions, 114 clearances and 35 blocks in order to establish himself as one of the mainstays in the Islanders' team.
4. Michael Soosairaj
One of the rising stars of Indian football, Michael Soosairaj majorly plays in defensive midfield wherein he tries to break opponent attacks and then carries on the counter attack for his side.
Soosairaj was an important part of ATK last season and he will continue to play a critical role for his team this season too.
