Spanish giants, Barcelona are currently going through a transition after losing their greatest ever player in Lionel Messi earlier in the summer. The Catalan giants have struggled over the past couple of years despite having had Messi in their ranks, with the club plunging to newer depths under the likes of Ronald Koeman in the past.

The club appointed the legendary, Xavi Hernandez in order to retain their identity and while the Spaniard has a tough task in front of him - he has started giving a number of youngsters opportunities in order to bring about a fresh perspective at the Nou Camp.

Here, we take a look at four of the next generation of superstars at Barcelona.

1. Pedri

The winner of the most recent Golden Boy award and Kopa Trophy, Pedri has emerged as one of the best young footballers in the world and the future of the club after enjoying a breakout 2020/21 season.

The 19-year-old has been compared to his current manager, Xavi in terms of ability and influence on the pitch and such has his brilliance been that he has already established himself as one of the key players for both club and country.

2. Ansu Fati

Hailed as the next great talent to come out of Barcelona, Ansu Fati has already impressed so far in his nascent career - becoming the youngest goalscorer in Champions League history.

The Spaniard who is 19-years-old is being tipped as the successor to Lionel Messi and it will be interesting to see how his career pans out at the club in the future.

3. Ferran Torres

Ferran Torres became the latest star to move to the Nou Camp after the club recently completed the signing of the winger from Manchester City for a fee said to be in the region of €55million.

The Spaniard who joined City in 2020 was quietly impressive on the pitch when given a chance, scoring 16 goals in 43 appearances for them while also netting 12 goals in 22 caps for Spain.

He is another player who is young at just 21 and could be the cornerstone of the club for years to come.

4. Gavi

Gavi has been compared to Barcelona legend, Andres Iniesta with the youngster impressing after being given a chance to display his wares this season.

The 17-year-old has just started out in his senior career with many former and current players hailing him and describing him as a player who has "huge potential".
