The Premier League is widely considered to be the best and most competitive league in the world, with a number of top players plying their trade in England. However, there remain a few players who do not get the plaudits and attention they deserve from both the media and the fans and here, we take a look at five of them.

1. Bernardo Silva (Manchester City)

In a team packed with superstars it is tough to stand out but there is no doubt that Bernardo Silva deserves more credit than he gets, considering that he is one of the best midfielders in the league.

The 27-year-old has showed once again this season why he deserves to get all the plaudits as he has been one of the best players this campaign as he not only contributes in terms of goal and assists but also when it comes to his tenacity and willingness to do the dirty work on the pitch.

2. Andreas Christensen (Chelsea)

Chelsea have one of the best defences in the Premier League and while most of the praise goes to Antonio Rudiger and Thiago Silva, one must not forget the contributions of Andreas Christensen who has been a quiet and understated presence on the pitch.

The Danish international has looked comfortable at the heart of the defence and that a number of top clubs are keen to sign him, goes to show how brilliant he has been.

3. Oriol Romeu (Southampton)

Oriol Romeu has made more than 240 appearances in the Premier League, yet he remains underappreciated considering that he has been a key player for Southampton ever since joining them in 2015.

The Spaniard is a brilliant ball-winner and master of the tactical foul and is a type of a player that one would want in their team as he add that stability in midfield.

4. Pierre-Emile Hojberg

Pierre-Emile Hojberg has been a regular for Tottenham Hotspur under various managers since joining the club 2020, and plays an important role for the club on the pitch.

The 26-year-old does not catch one's eye on the pitch, but he plays a key role as he does most of the dirty business and is tasked with ensuring that he protects the defence.
