Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes missed a Premier League game for the first time through injury last Monday - the 4-0 mauling at the hands of Crystal Palace.

His absence disappointed thousands of Fantasy Premier League managers who were hoping to see him continue his outstanding run of form, and it's not 100% guaranteed that he'll be back in the side for United's upcoming double gameweek.

Using Fantasy Football's Hub powerful AI Points Predictions tool, here's the three best candidates to consider replacing Fernandes with, should their be a need to replace the Portuguese.

Son Heung-min

Fixtures: Burnley (H), Manchester City (H); Predicted Points: 13.1

Faltering performances from Spurs in recent weeks has seen their assets down the pecking order as transfer targets. However, captain Son Heung-min remains an out of position prospect, scoring two goals in his last four games.

Spurs are fortunate to have two home games over this double gameweek, which could trigger an upturn in their form. Son scored a hat-trick in the reverse fixture against Burnley and also produced a double digit haul against Manchester City earlier this season.

Kevin De Bruyne

Fixtures: Fulham (A), Tottenham Hotspur (A); Predicted Points: 11.3

Kevin De Bruyne should be well suited to two away fixtures over Manchester City’s double, having produced an attacking return in every away start this campaign. He’s racked up ten goal involvements on the road, with the best goal involvement per 90 metric of any player.

He’s been in sound form since the international break, with three goals and three assists in six starts. He’s taken the majority of City’s set pieces in this time, sitting top for big chances created with eight and remains a differential compared to teammate Phil Foden.

Alejandro Garnacho

Fixtures: Arsenal (H), Newcastle United (H); Predicted Points: 9.9

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho is their next highest scoring fantasy player after Bruno Fernandes, with 14 goal involvements this season. Four of those attacking returns have come since the international break, two goals and two assists.

He’s averaging 3.8 points per match, which improves to 4.25 points per match in home games. His underlying numbers over the last seven gameweeks show promise, ranked sixth for shots in the box with 20, including five big chances on goal.
