Manchester United are set for a summer clear-out as part of transfer plans under the leadership of INEOS, and Marcus Rashford will not be considered as an untouchable asset.

Reports claim that Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund will be the only players whose futures at Old Trafford will be guaranteed heading into the 2024/25 season.

But for a star player like Rashford, who has underperformed this year and is on £325,000-a-week wages, his fate is not without conditions - namely that he would have to ask to leave and for a club to stump up significant cash.

Where could Rashford go if he leaves United? Let's look at nine potential destinations.

9. Barcelona

The Barcelona of yesteryear would be all over this kind of deal. Lord knows they've chucked huge amounts of money at any star player within an earshot just to simply boast he is theirs and theirs alone.

Rashford's reputation in Catalonia is probably quite positive as well considering his fine performance at Camp Nou in United's 2-2 draw there in last season's Europa League.

But this is a Barca who must sell to buy. There's no chance in hell they could afford a package to acquire Rashford and absorb his wages.

8. Real Madrid

Unlike their El Clasico rivals, there is a bit more nuance about Real Madrid's transfer strategy.

Los Blancos have the money to bring in Rashford, but considering the outlay they're about to spend on the contract of Kylian Mbappe and the forward options already available to them, it doesn't make much sense to pursue this deal.

7. Milan

As things currently stand, it's unlikely Milan could afford Rashford.

That could change if the Rossoneri decided to cash in on Rafael Leao, however. Milan fans have grown fond of Premier League imports like Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic and Fikayo Tomori. It'd be hard to imagine Rashford not being successful over in Italy too.

6. Tottenham

A few batterings here and there aside, Tottenham Hotspur have done well to rebuild their reputation as a club for players to want to join this year.

Their fast-and-loose style would suit a breakneck wide forward like Rashford, and Spurs could do with some reinforcements to their frontline.

But, once again, the stumbling block is on the financial front.

5. Newcastle

A team perhaps more willing to provide the money needed for Rashford is Newcastle.

The Magpies have some PSR concerns to address this summer, but with a big-money sale of Bruno Guimaraes on the cards, they may have more wiggle room to make a worthwhile offer to United.

And let's face it, would you want your team to try and defend a frontline that features Rashford, Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon? Probably not.

4. Bayern Munich

Building squads filled with the world's most deadly wingers is Bayern Munich heritage.

Rashford would fit that billing in Bavaria, and last year's move to sign Harry Kane proves they are not shy to splashing the cash on the right player and digging their heels in to get a deal over the line.

A transfer fee might not be problematic, but the wage packet could be.

3. Chelsea

Chelsea's current project is a mess. Still, at least they have Cole Palmer, a positive head coach in Mauricio Pochettino and owners who are willing to invest.

They are also looking to bolster their attacking options, which is unsurprising given some of their current personnel.

Could Rashford fill the vacancy on the left side of a 4-2-3-1? It wouldn't be surprising to see the Blues throw their hat in the ring.

2. Arsenal

Arsenal have taken Liverpool's transfer-market crown. Seemingly every transfer involving the Gunners stands to benefit them, even when it seems unlikely.

Mikel Arteta has got the best out of Kai Havertz and is gaining a reputation as a talent-fixer. Maybe he thinks Rashford needs his guidance to find peace again. Maybe he thinks he's a lost cause. Who knows, really. Go ask him yourself.

1. PSG

90min revealed earlier this year that Rashford is on PSG's four-player shortlist of potential replacements to Mbappe.

The French champions have a long-standing interest in Rashford and have taken several meetings with his camp in recent years, though the feeling from Parc des Princes was these were used as leverage to extract a more lucrative contract offer out of United.

If there is a genuine chance for Rashford to leave, then PSG will probably lead the queue.
