Liverpool are reportedly close to confirming a deal for Hull City's Andrew Roberston and Ian Wright has been reacting to the deal on Twitter.
The Arsenal and Crystal Palace legend reacted to news of Roberston's Liverpool medical with the following tweet:
The tweet initially doesn't seem clear, however it does suggest that Wright thinks the move is a clever one by Liverpool.
Wright went on to further clarify the point after he was asked by a Reds fan if he thought Robertson was a good signing for the Anfield club:
Jurgen Klopp's side have reportedly agreed a deal of around £10m pounds for the left-back, according to The Times.
The 23-year-old is now set to undergo a medical today as he looks to secure game time in the Premier League once again next season, after Hull's relegation to the Championship.
Robertson reportedly left Hull City’s pre-season training camp in Portugal on Monday, in order to discuss a move to Anfield.
The Scottish international is set to become Jurgen Klopp’s third major signing of the summer, following the free transfer of Dominic Solanke from Chelsea and the £35m signing of Mohamed Salah from Roma.
Robertson made 33 appearances for Hull last season in the Premier League, scoring once and providing three assists.
Klopp is known to be looking for defensive reinforcements this summer, after his side looked good going forward but defensively unreliable at times last season.
The Reds have already been linked with deals for Southampton's Virgil van Dijk and RB Leipzig's Naby Keita this summer, however both deals have hit difficult complications.
However Liverpool finally look set to bolster their defensive line with Roberston expected to complete his move within the coming days.
