Reading defender Liam Moore was understandably heartbroken after his miss in the penalty shootout in the play-off final on Monday against Huddersfield.

The defender was the first player to miss for Jaap Stam's side with Jordan Obita failing to score from the next, allowing Christopher Schindler to fire home the fifth and final penalty for the Terriers to send them to the Premier League.

It was a crushing day for Reading, however, Moore took to Twitter to tell fans that he and his teammates will be back fighting next season.

The game itself was a very poor affair with both sides unwilling to take risks, resulting in the first 0-0 in Championship play-off final history.

During the shootout, the impetus was with Reading after Michael Hefele's miss, but Moore and Obita handed the initiative back to the Terriers.

Now, Stam's side face another gruelling season in England's second-tier, but after their heroics this campaign, fans have every reason to be optimistic that they can challenge for promotion once again.
