Chelsea capped off the 2024/25 season in unforgettable fashion – not just by winning the revamped Club World Cup, but by celebrating the moment in style alongside American football royalty.
Enzo Maresca’s side were dominant in the final, dispatching European champions Paris Saint-Germain 3–0 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Star man Cole Palmer struck twice, with João Pedro adding a third – his third goal in two games – to secure the title.
Among the star-studded crowd was U.S. President Donald Trump, who made a surprise (and long) appearance at the trophy presentation, and NFL icon Tom Brady, who watched from Trump's private suite before joining the Blues for a night to remember.
After lifting the trophy, Chelsea’s jubilant squad returned to their team hotel where hundreds of fans had gathered to welcome them back as world champions. The celebrations continued into the night with a private party, where players, staff and VIP guests toasted the end of a gruelling 11-month campaign.
Brady – a seven-time Super Bowl winner – was a special guest at the event, with several Chelsea players queuing up for photos with the American legend. New signing Darrio Essugo shared a snap on Instagram Stories labelling Brady the GOAT and looked particularly thrilled to meet him.
There were also karaoke performances from the squad – including Moisés Caicedo, echoing scenes from their Europa Conference League triumph in May – while Maresca, the architect of Chelsea’s success, was also pictured celebrating with staff at the New York party.
João Pedro, whose £60 million move from Brighton is already looking like a bargain, featured in a behind-the-scenes clip shared by the club from the dressing room post-match.
“João, you were on holiday and now you are a world champion,” he was told. Smiling, he simply replied: “What can I say – this is Chelsea."
That’ll no doubt be music to the ears of Blues fans everywhere.
