Borussia Dortmund reached the 2023/24 Champions League final after securing a 1-0 win away at Paris Saint-Germain, earning a 2-0 aggregate victory.

Veteran defender Mats Hummels' header early in the second half put the German side in a strong position which they didn't relinquish, meaning there will be no showdown between Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid in the final.

Instead, BVB will have the chance to win their second Champions League trophy - their first coming in 1996/97 - when they take on either Madrid or Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich on 1 June.

Dortmund last reached the final in 2012/13, being beaten 2-1 at Wembley Stadium, the ground where this season's final will be held.

The German outfit were handed one of the toughest groups but finished ahead of PSG, AC Milan and Newcastle to set up a last-16 tie with PSV Eindhoven. They were successful against the Dutch outfit, winning 3-1 on aggregate, and then pulled off a memorable comeback in the quarter-finals to triumph 5-3 over Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid.

Niclas Fullkrug's strike was enough to hand Dortmund victory in the first leg with PSG and Hummels' header made the deficit too great for Luis Enrique's side to overcome at Parc des Princes.

Edin Terzic's team, currently sat fifth in the Bundesliga, now await the result of the second leg between Madrid and Bayern on Wednesday night, with their semi-final locked at 2-2 after an entertaining draw at the Allianz Arena.
