When you first load up your Career Mode save in EA FC 25, it's unlikely that your first acquisition will be a right-back.

It's not the most glamorous position in the game but having a good right-back in your side can be the difference between success and failure. After all, who else is going to stop those pesky 95-pace left wingers, eh?

There are some exceptionally talented right-backs in this year's game but finding one who is young (in our case, aged 23 or under) is far more challenging. Fortunately, it's not impossible.

Here are the best young right-backs in EA FC 25.

When evaluating players with right-back as their starting position, it's Chelsea's Malo Gusto that boasts the highest potential of any player aged 23 or under. While currently rated an impressive 80 overall at just 21 years of age, he can rise all the way to 86 in EA FC 25.

Some of his positional peers in the Premier League also stand out. The versatile Rico Lewis of Manchester City and the energetic Tino Livramento of Newcastle United both have 85 potential, while Liverpool's Conor Bradley and Wolverhampton Wanderers' Pedro Lima catch the eye, too.

Spain have some exciting defenders rising through the ranks, including Girona's Arnau Martinez. Already rated higher than many of his teammates, the 79 overall right-back can improve by six ratings if managed properly. Sevilla's Juanlu Sanchez is another future star in La Liga.

Outside Europe's top five leagues there are two young whippersnappers set for big things. Former Inter youngster Mattia Zanotti is currently plying his trade in Switzerland with Lugano, while Club Brugge's Kyriani Sabbe also has a potential of 83.

Spain's impressive right-backs are not limited to men's football. Ane Elexpuru and Emma Ramirez are both under the age of 23 and boast 85 and 84 potential ratings respectively as they hone their skills in Liga F.

Germany's Alicia-Sophie Gudorf and Beke Sterner are promising talents in the Frauen-Bundesliga, with potential ratings of 83 and 84 respectively.
