In an exclusive interview with FTBpro, Liverpool forward Iago Aspas has revealed he could be set for a summer exit from Anfield as he searches for more regular first team football.
The 26-year-old made a £7.7 million move to Merseyside this past summer after impressing with La Liga outfit Celta Vigo. His time at Anfield has been less than impressive however, as he's found it difficult to break into Brendan Rogers' side.
Brought in to provide depth in the Liverpool attack, he had opportunities to make an impression on the squad with star striker Luis Suarez suspended for the first five matches of the Premier League season. However, he struggled to adjust to the English game and has since fallen out of favour, with the scintillating form of the Suarez and Daniel Sturridge partnership limiting his first team opportunities.
Looking to get more regular football, the Spaniard suggested in the interview that he could be looking to move to pastures new in the summer.
"I'm not 20 years old anymore, I can't go on loan and explode.
"I think the best would be to transfer to another club that I find the best fit for myself and the club.
"This is the hardest part. I used to play almost all the matches and I arrived here playing much less. This is the tough side of football."
