6 Players That Would Benefit From Moves Away From Their Current Clubs This January

Every now and again change can be good thing, but none more so than for the players listed below.

Some players are often stuck in a rut and their careers look to be at a standstill - and some players look to make a move to try and reach their peak and fulfill their potential.

Here's a look at six players that would benefit by moving away from their current clubs this transfer window:

6. Aleksandar Mitrović (Newcastle)

Possible Moves: Partizan Belgrade, Anderlecht, Marseille

Aleksandar Mitrovic has made only six appearances in the Premier League for Rafa Benitez's side this campaign and the Spanish manager has opted to choose Dwight Gayle, Joselu and Ayoze Perez to lead the Magpies' attack.

The 23-year-old joined Newcastle for £13m from Anderlecht in July 2015. However, he has only managed to claim a tally of 14 league goals since his move to England and looks to be on the fringes at St James’ Park.

The Serbian is still young and has a reasonable goal-scoring record despite his inexperience and disciplinary issues. The striker should be looking to move away from Tyneside if he wants to further his career and gain experience - and there are a number of clubs who would be willing to bring in the aggressive and assertive forward.

5. Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool)

Possible Moves: West Ham, Newcastle, AC Milan, Sevilla

There have been reports that Daniel Sturridge is ready to leave Anfield in a bid to start fresh and increase his minutes on the pitch in time for the upcoming World Cup.

It has been apparent that Sturridge has struggled for form since the departure of Luis Suarez in 2014, and has since found goals hard to come by - only scoring 13 goals in Premier League over the last three campaigns.

The out-of-favour front man's time at Liverpool looks up - only managing five starts all season, and remains merely a back-up to Jurgen Klopp. The former Chelsea man will need to move and increase his game time if he has any chance of travelling to Russia with the England squad in the summer.

4. Marouane Fellaini (Manchester United)

Possible Moves:  Paris Saint-Germain, Besiktas, Juventus

Marouane Fellaini has certainly split opinion since his move to Old Trafford in 2013. However, both critics and admirers should know that the Belgian needs to leave Man Utd in order to become a first team regular.

The 30-year-old is out of contract in the summer and is reportedly keen to leave Manchester  in a bid to increase his playing time and upsurge his chances in being part of the Belgium squad in the run-up to the World Cup in Russia.

Jose Mourinho is apparently desperate to keep the Belgian - who has become a key utility player at Old Trafford. However, a frequent knee problem has sidelined him since late November and has seen him slide down the pecking order in United's midfield.

3. Yaya Toure (Manchester City)

Possible Moves: New York City, Inter

It's fair to say that Yaya Toure has been a bit-part player for the Citizens this season. The Ivorian international hasn't made a single league start in City's blistering squad this season, and Pep Guardiola doesn't look to be giving Toure a look in at anytime soon.

The 34-year-old midfielder has been a pivotol figure in Man City's recent success and is highly regarded by the blue half of Manchester, however, Toure has found playing time scarce under Guardiola and should look to play his football elsewhere.

Although he's entering the latter stages of his career, he still has something to offer and he should look to utilise his strengths away from the Etihad if he doesn't want his career to fizzle out.

2. Jonny Evans (West Brom)

Possible Moves: Manchester City, Arsenal

West Brom captain Jonny Evans has developed into a classy and composed centre-back during his time with the baggies. His progress has seen him become linked with the Premier League's big hitters, as Manchester City look keen to bring in the Northern Ireland international.

Alan Pardew has tried to convince Evans to sign a new deal at the Hawthorns, but the 29-year-old looks likely to be departing Albion as Manchester City's defensive woes continue - with Vincent Kompany out through injury and Eliaquim Mangala not being rated by Guardiola.

This could be a perfect move for Evans, as he's in the form of his life, and he can fit in perfectly into a team that is running away with the league and playing for fun. This is a chance for Evans to develop even more and become regarded as one of the best centre-backs in the league.

1. Riyad Mahrez (Leicester)

Possible Moves: Liverpool, Arsenal

Mahrez was a relative unknown player when he moved from Le Havre to Leicester in 2014, however, within three seasons, the Algerian international had helped his side win the Premier League and also won the PFA player of the year award.

The Algerian international has lit up the Premier League and with no disrespect to Leicester, the forward should be looking for a new challenge to go up a level and fulfil his potential. He has the ability to beat players with ease, as well as chipping in with goals and assists.

He has enough talent to get into any side that are in and amongst the Champions League places. He should consider a move if he wants to reach his peak, and he's certainly a player that should be playing midweek in Europes most prestigious cup competition.
