Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian has been once again linked with a move to Italy. Il Mattino report that Napoli are interested in signing the full-back as it is a position manager Maurizio Sarri wants to strengthen.
They also report that Napoli are still interested in the Atletico Madrid defender Sime Vrsaljko, who is yet to make a La Liga appearance this season.
Darmian has been at Old Trafford since August 2015 when he arrived from Torino. He made 39 appearances in all competitions in his debut season as United finished fifth in the Premier League and won the FA Cup.
The arrival of José Mourinho in 2016 meant Darmian's opportunities in the first team decreased. He has made only 11 appearances this season and only three of those have come in the Premier League.
Three successive draws against Leicester, Burnley and Southampton saw United fall to third in the table but they got back on track on New Year's Day with a 2-0 win against Everton.
Darmian will hope to be involved as United kick off their FA Cup campaign with a home fixture against Championship side Derby on Friday.
Napoli are currently top of Serie A after they recorded three straight wins in December. There was disappointment last night though as they were knocked out of the Coppa Italia by Atalanta.
United reportedly wish to keep Darmian at the club as cover if injuries were to affect their squad.
