Picking the Best Potential AC Milan Lineup to Play Inter Milan on Wednesday

AC Milan will be desperately looking to restore some pride in their Coppa Italia clash with Inter on Wednesday after suffering a 2-0 defeat against Atalanta in the Serie A just before Christmas.

Gattuso has to turn the club's fortunes around after a poor run of form in recent weeks, with the former Rossoneri midfielder registering just two wins as the Milan manager.

Here's how AC Milan could lineup on Wednesday:

Goalkeeper

  • G. Donnarumma
    G. Donnarumma99

Gianluigi Donnarumma is under serious pressure to regain the form that made him the most in-demand goalkeeper in world football, with the 18-year-old having made just five clean sheets in the Serie A this season.

Defence

  • Bonucci

  • Rodríguez

Although looking completely lost in their match with Atalanta on Saturday, Milan will likely keep with the same back four.

Davide Calabria will be knocking on the door for a spot in the Milan first-team, while Alessio Romagnoli is also on the brink of returning to the Rossoneri starting lineup.

Midfield

  • Bonaventura

  • Biglia

  • Kessie

One of the few players that can hold their heads high in recent weeks, Giacomo Bonaventura should be one of the first names on Gattuso's team sheet.

Franck Kessié should also retain his place in the Milan starting lineup, with Lucas Biglia replacing Riccardo Montolivo to offer Milan a more natural defensive option on Wednesday.

Forwards

  • Suso

  • André Silva

  • Calhanoglu

Gattuso could look to change his entire front three ahead of the Milan derby, with Suso returning to the first-team following a suspension.

André Silva and Hakan Çalhanoğlu should also return to the starting lineup - ahead of Nikola Kalinić and Patrick Cutrone - after the pair had to settle with a cameo against Atalanta on Saturday.
