Both Manchester City and Napoli are in red hot form heading into this Champions League clash. Both teams sit at the top of their respective domestic tables, and both remain undefeated.
Napoli have won thirteen consecutive Serie A games, and have scored 43 goals in that time. Meanwhile, City have scored 29 in their first eight Premier League games. While goals should be expected from this highly anticipated European clash, both teams know how to defend as well with just nine conceded between them domestically in 2017/18.
Ahead of the eagerly-anticipated fixture on Tuesday night, here is the best combined available XI from the two squads.
1. GK: Ederson
Both teams' shot-stoppers, Ederson and Pepe Reina, have both been in good form heading into the clash.
However, 24-year-old Ederson gets the nod ahead of Reina this time for his seamless transition into the Premier League side. The Brazilian goalkeeper did not concede a league goal in September and his distribution has added an extra weapon to Pep Guardiola's already impressive arsenal.
2. RB: Kyle Walker
£50m new man Kyle Walker will hope to continue to impress after his strong start at his new club. With three assists in the Premier League so far this season, Walker will bomb forward with pace to whip in dangerous crosses for City's attacking players.
Napoli have quick wingers themselves in the form of Lorenzo Insigne and Jose Callejon, so Walker will also have plenty of work to do in his defensive duties.
3. CB: Kalidou Koulibaly
26-year-old Koulibaly has played in every league game for Napoli so far this season, and so has been crucial to maintaining the side's eight game win streak.
With attacking threat, Koulibaly will be the one to mark when City defend set pieces. Koulibaly has two league goals this campaign.
4. CB: John Stones
After his big money move to Manchester, Stones has shown his worth with solid performances for City so far this season.
Hoping to continue that form, Stones will need to be wary of the pace of Napoli's forward line. A front three of Dries Mertens, Jose Callejon and Lorenzo Insigne are certain to cause City problems.
5. LB: Faouzi Ghoulam
Like Koulibaly, Ghoulam has been a mainstay in Napoli's starting eleven this season. The Algerian left-back already has two Serie A goals to his name.
Ghoulam will have pace to contend with on Manchester City's wings as Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane, and Walker will all try to get forward.
6. CM: David Silva
An ever-present figure in Manchester City's side over the years, it will be Silva along with Kevin De Bruyne who will pull the strings in midfield.
He is the current Premier League assist leader with six, who's goal contributions for City match that of Marek Hamisk for Napoli.
7. CM: Marek Hamsik
Hamsik will be the source of Napoli's goal from midfield, a job he has continued to do season after season.
Hamsik is now just one goal behind Diego Maradona's club record 115 goals for Napoli. He will battle with Kevin De Bruyne over who controls the middle of the park.
8. AMR: Leroy Sane
Sane has had to battle for his place in the starting eleven for City this season. How he has responded to limited starts this season earns him a place in this team.
Four goals and three assists is Sane's tally for the season so far, which already nearly matches his record for the previous season.
9. AML: Kevin De Bruyne
Kevin De Bruyne has once again been proving why he might be the best midfielder in the Premier League at the moment.
With five league assists for the season so far, De Bruyne's movement and passing of the ball can split even the best defences apart. It will be a good test for him to find the gaps in this Napoli back-four.
10. AMC: Dries Mertens
30-year-old Dries Mertens seems to improve with age as he has already netted seven goals in Serie A this season.
Mertens will lead a Napoli attack which already has 26 league goals for the season so far. A record that rivals even City's impressive attacking return this season.
11. ST: Sergio Aguero
A returning Sergio Aguero just beats the equally in-form Gabriel Jesus to this team. Back from a rib injury, Aguero will hope to restart his season with more goals.
Aguero has just one less league goal this season than Mertens, who will both battle to out-score the other in this clash of goal-scoring heavyweights.
